Fear Not

Even amid the storms that threaten to sweep me away, I need not fear:  Jesus Christ, God-with-us, keeps me even through the wildest of storms.

God is the God of all of life – the chaos of the sea, the security of the land, the storm, and the stillness.

Fear not, I am with you;
be not dismayed;
I am your God.

I will strengthen you, and help you,
and uphold you with my right hand of justice.

(Is 41:10)

It is better for us to reach eternal bliss
after a few difficulties than to go down
into the depths of hell after brief joy.

Distress

Distress speaks to the heart of God who loves me.
Let pride not hide from him those problems and pains for which I have no solutions.

The Daily Storms Of Life

The storms that threaten are not those that blow from mountain or sea but those that blow from human doubts, human fears, human violence, whether from within or from without.

I put my trust daily in the present help found in his word as I read, study, and pray it.

Taking Up The Cross

Life is never without its crosses, but there is a difference betweek taking up the cross and just being weighed down by it.
If I take up the crosses in my life in union with Jesus Christ, he helps along he way.
If I refuse his help, I am simply crushed under their weight.

Lord, uphold me in your love.
When the weight of my cross seems too much to bear,
-- and I feel myself falling.
When I am tempted to abandon the cross,
-- and seek the easy way out.
When I am overwhelmed with guilt,
-- and are tempted to depair.
